2026 K League 1 Round 13 Preview
Round 13 of the 2026 Hana Bank K League 1 season features a meeting between two sides heading in opposite directions as FC Anyang look to halt their recent slide against an in-form Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors side chasing a fourth consecutive win. Elsewhere, Jeju SK aim to continue their climb up the table following an important victory in Round 12, while Ulsan HD striker Marcão looks to maintain his strong scoring form after leading his side back to winning ways. realschule-moosburg.de
Match of the Round
Violets seek response against in-form Green Warriors
FC Anyang (seventh, 15 points) host Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors (second, 21 points) in Round 13. Jeonbuk won the first meeting between the two sides this season 2-1 and also hold a perfect record in the fixture with four wins from four matches. Attention now turns to whether Anyang can secure their first win over Jeonbuk or if the visitors can continue their momentum.
Anyang have struggled in recent weeks, failing to score in their last two matches. However, their attacking play through Airton Moises and Kim Un continues to pose a threat. Airton, in particular, has scored three goals in 11 appearances this season, level with Matheus Oliveria as the club’s top scorer. He also produced one of the standout moments of the season in Round 9 against Ulsan with a powerful solo run and finish. Anyang will hope to end their scoring drought and use this match as a turning point.
Jeonbuk, meanwhile, recorded a commanding 4-0 win over Gwangju on Children’s Day to extend their winning streak to three matches and remain firmly in the title race. Oberdan, Kim Seung-seop, Tiago Orobo, and Lee Seung-woo all found the net, highlighting the side’s attacking variety. The first goals of the season for Oberdan and Kim Seung-seop were particularly encouraging signs. The midfield combination of Oberdan, Kim Jin-gyu, Kang Sang-yoon and Maeng Seong-ung, combined with the pace of Lee Seung-woo and Lee Dong-jun on the flanks, will once again be central to Jeonbuk’s approach.
The meeting between Anyang and Jeonbuk takes place on Sunday, May 10th at 4:30 PM at Anyang Sports Complex.
Team of the Round
Tangerines continue their climb up the table
Jeju SK (ninth, 15 points) defeated Bucheon FC 19951-0 in Round 12 on Children’s Day. The victory lifted Sergio Costa's side from 11th to ninth and provided momentum in their push up the standings.
Jeju have scored nine goals in 12 matches this season and have occasionally lacked attacking consistency. However, rather than relying on one individual, players across multiple positions have contributed goals as the side collected four wins. Jeju have built points steadily through efficient game management, and if their forwards begin to convert more consistently, the side could become even more stable.
Defensively, the back four has been a key strength. Centre backs Figueiredo, Julien Celestine and Kim Jae-woo have rotated effectively while maintaining solidity at the back, while Kim Ryun-seong has contributed strongly on both sides of the ball with his work rate. In the win over Bucheon, Kim assisted Nam Tae-hee’s winning goal. Goalkeeper Kim Dong-jun has also impressed, recording a league-high five clean sheets.
Jeju face FC Seoul in Round 13. Jeju lost the first meeting between the two sides this season, 2-1. Their second encounter of the campaign takes place on Saturday, May 9th at 2 PM at Jeju World Cup Stadium.
Player of the Round
Horangi marksman Marcão
Ulsan HD (third, 20 points) ended their losing streak with a 2-1 win over Gimcheon Sangmu in Round 12. Marcão opened the scoring and helped Ulsan reduce the gap with league leaders FC Seoul to six points.
Marcão first arrived in Korea with Gyeongnam in 2017 and enjoyed a remarkable spell in both divisions. He recorded 22 goals and three assists in K League 2 in his debut season before following that with 26 goals and five assists in K League 1 the following year, winning both the top scorer and MVP awards in each division. After returning to Korea to sign with Ulsan in the summer of 2025, Marcão initially took time to settle but has recently rediscovered his scoring touch.
Despite starting only one match and making six appearances this season, the towering Brazilian has already recorded five goals and one assist, underlining his efficiency in front of goal. He has also shown variety in his finishing, scoring three goals with his right foot, one with his left, and one with his head. Marcão now looks to score in consecutive matches.
Ulsan face Bucheon FC 1995 in Round 13. Ulsan won the first meeting between the two sides this season 2-1. Their second encounter of the campaign will take place on Sunday, May 10th at 2 PM at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium.

Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany Mahomes announces new award
NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, just announced on Wednesday night that she is the recipient of the inaugural Champion for Change award during the United WE’s 35th anniversary celebration at the CPKC Stadium.
According to the nonprofit organization, Mahomes earned the award for being “one of the most impactful women figures in the city right now,” specifically for her work with the Kansas City Current, the National Women’s Soccer League club she co-owns.

“Such an inspiring morning with United WE celebrating progress and influencing action! It was such an honor to receive the inaugural Champion for Change award in the stadium that represents what it looks like when women’s needs are prioritized in sports and in the workplace. No better place to celebrate women than a stadium built for women!” Mahomes wrote.
With Mahomes as one of the co-owners, the Current finished the regular season as the top-ranked team and broke several league records en route to winning the National Women’s Soccer League Shield last year.
The couple’s foundation, 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, was also recognized by United WE.
Brittany Mahomes opens up about struggles with wrist injury
Before receiving her United WE Champions for Change award, Brittany Mahomes shared earlier this week that she has been navigating through a “pretty bad” wrist injury for about a year, which she referred to as “Mother’s wrist.”
“Mother’s wrist” (De Quervain’s tenosynovitis) is a painful condition caused by inflammation of the tendons in the thumb and wrist. According to Mayo Clinic, this is often associated with activities that require repetitive movements, which isn’t surprising since she’s a former athlete and a mom of three.
Unfortunately for the wife of Patrick Mahomes, her mother’s wrist isn’t the only injury she has dealt with, as she’s also been gradually recovering from a broken back for the past two years.
Report: Arsenal and Man City considering move for Chelsea midfielder
Enzo Fernandez Transfer Talk Exposes Chelsea’s Bigger Question
Chelsea Direction Under Fresh Scrutiny
Enzo Fernandez was meant to be one of the pillars of Chelsea’s new era, the World Cup winner around whom a midfield, and perhaps an identity, could be built. Yet, according to TeamTalk, the Argentina international now finds himself at the centre of growing transfer interest from Manchester City, Arsenal and Barcelona.
That alone should trouble Chelsea supporters. Fernandez is not a peripheral figure. He is 25, under contract until 2032, and regarded as a central player at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have no intention of selling him, yet modern football rarely works on intention alone. Confidence, clarity and ambition often matter just as much as contract length.

Arsenal and Manchester City Circle
Manchester City’s interest feels logical. Pep Guardiola’s midfield is moving towards another refresh, and Fernandez offers control, range, aggression and elite technical security. Arsenal’s admiration is equally understandable. Mikel Arteta’s side continue to seek midfield depth capable of sustaining title challenges across a long season.
Barcelona’s presence adds glamour, even if their finances remain complicated. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have also previously been linked, according to TeamTalk, which underlines the calibre of player Chelsea are trying to keep settled.
The most alarming detail for Chelsea is not simply that elite clubs like Fernandez. It is that those clubs sense uncertainty.
Fernandez Future Depends on Chelsea’s Next Step
TeamTalk report that Fernandez is among Chelsea players confused by the club’s direction. That is the real story. Since BlueCo’s takeover, Chelsea have often looked like a club in permanent construction, forever searching for the final piece, the right manager, the correct structure, the perfect squad profile.
Players can accept transition when there is visible progress. They can accept pain when there is purpose. What becomes harder to accept is churn without conviction.
Fernandez has already sparked controversy, repeatedly saying during the March international break that he would like to move to Madrid, while admitting he ‘doesn’t know’ whether he will be at Chelsea next season.
That phrase matters. ‘doesn’t know’ is not a transfer request, yet it is not a ringing endorsement either. It leaves room for doubt, and in football, doubt invites callers.
BlueCo Must Restore Belief Quickly
Chelsea’s next managerial appointment will be pivotal. TeamTalk state that senior players want a figure with authority, respect and a winning mentality, rather than another long project. That feels entirely reasonable. A young squad still needs direction. Expensive talent still needs leadership.
Fernandez should be central to Chelsea’s future. His energy, passing and personality make him one of the few players capable of giving the side rhythm and edge. Selling him would feel like another reset, another admission that the grand plan has lost shape.
Chelsea can still control this story. They have the contract, the platform and the Premier League stage. What they need now is something more precious, trust.
Our View – EPL Index Analysis
From a Chelsea supporter’s perspective, this report feels both worrying and strangely predictable. Enzo Fernandez is exactly the kind of player Chelsea cannot afford to let drift towards the exit conversation. He is young enough to grow with the club, experienced enough to lead, and talented enough to interest every major side in Europe.
The concern is not that Manchester City, Arsenal or Barcelona admire him. Of course they do. Top clubs recognise top midfielders. The concern is that Chelsea have allowed a situation to develop where Fernandez might reasonably question what comes next.
Supporters have been asked to believe in a long-term project, yet the project keeps changing shape. New managers, new signings, new structures, new explanations. At some point, players want proof. Fernandez will want to know who is coaching him, what role he has, and whether Chelsea are genuinely building towards trophies.
As a fan, the idea of Arsenal monitoring him stings. Seeing a rival benefit from Chelsea’s instability would be hard to stomach. City would be bad enough. Arsenal would feel worse.
Chelsea must make this simple. Appoint the right manager, define the plan, and make Fernandez feel like a cornerstone rather than another asset on a spreadsheet.

Why LSG lead wooden spoon race; MI, KKR in the mix
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are currently at the bottom of the IPL 2026 table due to a disastrous six-match losing streak and a league-low net run rate of -1.076.
Despite a solid start, their campaign derailed as middle-order mainstays Rishabh Pant and Nicholas Pooran hit a simultaneous slump. A lack of batting consistency has left their strong bowling unit, led by Prince Yadav and Mohammed Shami, with too little to defend.
Meanwhile, MI are suffering from inconsistency. Their Indian superstars are not in the best of form, and they have hardly looked like a winning unit.
KKR have won three games on the trot, but they do not seem to have that aura and confidence. They look nervy and another collapse could see them end up with the wooden spoon.
The Cricket News Opinion: Why LSG and MI being last isn't a done deal
If anything has been learned from IPL history, it is that no team is ever out for the count.
In 2016, RCB made the worst possible start, losing five of their first seven matches. However, they won five straight matches thereafter to qualify for the play-offs and eventually finished as runners-up.
Similarly, MI lost four of their opening five games in 2015 before pulling off a dominant run that peaked in them lifting the second of their five IPL titles.
Momentum in the IPL is delicate, and two consecutive wins may shift everything in favour of one side.
CSK and KKR themselves achieved the unthinkable in 2010 and 2014, respectively. CSK won only two of their initial seven games before winning the first of their five titles, while the three-time winners produced a nine-match winning streak during one of their successful terms.
